Event/Series Settings

Choose the kind of event, the format, and how results and standings work.

Step 1. Open Event/Series Settings. Start at the top: Event/Series Type, Series Structure, Series Intent, Game Type, then Event Format. Each choice narrows the next.

Step 2. Read the Format Description — it explains the format you picked in plain words. Then set Series Roster Mode if it's offered.

Step 3. Further down, choose the Seed Method (and Pairing Policy for doubles), then Match Play and the Scoring/Standings Metric.

Step 4. At the bottom of the section, tap Update Settings to save.
Formats you can choose today
| Doubles Americano | Rotating-partner doubles where individuals compete on cumulative points across rounds. Partners and opponents change each round; the individual with the highest total points wins the event. Unlike standard_doubles, this format rotates partners instead of keeping the same pair together, and in progressive series the movement policy controls week 2+ court ordering. |

| Doubles Round Robin (Fixed Pairs) | Fixed-partner doubles round robin series: the same pairs play every other pair in their flight over the event cycle. Pair-oriented cumulative standings across the series. |
| Doubles Round Robin (Rotating Partners) | Rotating-partner doubles round robin series: every individual partners with every other individual across the flight over the event cycle. Individual cumulative standings. Not Americano: round robin promises schedule completeness; Americano is a points/movement format. |
| Practice | Unstructured practice session. Players warm up and practice skills without formal matches or scoring. |
| Singles Round Robin | Singles round robin series: every player meets every other player in their flight over the event cycle (N-1 rounds, one round per event). The cumulative series table is the product; standings are ledger-driven across the cycle. |
| Standard Doubles | Four players in 2 vs 2 format. Partners remain fixed throughout the event, so the same two players team up every game. Unlike doubles_americano, this format does not rotate partners round to round; any week-to-week movement is handled separately by the movement policy when the series is progressive. |
| Standard Singles | Two players compete one-on-one. Each player plays their own game throughout the event. |
Fields in this section
| Field | What it means |

| Event/Series Type | The overall context — League or Tournament. It decides which structures and formats you can pick. |
| Series Structure | Single Event (one-off) or Series of Events (recurring). |
| Series Intent | Recurring series only. One question: do results move players between events? Progression — yes, like a ladder. No-Progression — results rank players but never move them. Practice — no formal matches. |
| Game Type | Singles or Doubles — this decides which Event Formats you can pick. |
| Event Format | The actual competition format. It drives scoring, standings and results entry. The formats you can pick today are listed below. |
| Series Roster Mode | Controlled — a fixed roster commits to the series; absences are covered by substitutes. Open — drop-in attendance varies week to week; the waitlist fills open seats. Round Robin fixes this by format. |
| Whole-Series RSVP | Members can answer every upcoming event at once, at the first invitation. Set it before publishing. |
| Allow waitlist singles | Doubles Americano: the last 2+ waitlisted players can play as a singles pair so the event can still run. |
| Seed Method | How available players are ordered for the first event — for example First Joined, Captain's Ranking, Best Skills or Best Match. |
| Pairing Policy | Doubles only, when offered: how partners are chosen — Random, Rotate Players, Avoid Pairings or Maintain Partnerships. |
| Match Play | How each match is played — 1 Set, 2 out of 3, Play 3 Sets or 3 out of 5. Some formats fix it. |
| Scoring/Standings Metric | What the standings count — options depend on the Event Format (for example Individual Sets Won). |
| Games per Round | Doubles Americano with Games Won: the games each round adds up to. |
| Show Series Standings to players | Recurring series only. Unchecked, players don't see the series table — you still do. |
Good to know
- Not every field appears for every format — the page only shows what applies to your choices.
- Greyed-out options are coming later and can't be picked yet.
- Progression series also show Movement Policy, No-Show Policy and New Member Policy, each with its own description beside it.
- Settings lock once the series is published.
